The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) seemed broken and lost as she was led out of the lake house in handcuffs. Claire was raised to believe Aunt Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) lies and loathed the Newmans as a result, but Jordan’s confession changed her world in an instant.
Jordan finally admitted that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) didn’t abandon her like Claire previously thought. Claire’s vengeful desires were based on Jordan’s deception, so she was stunned when Jordan confessed to stealing little Eve Nicole Howard from the hospital.
Now Claire’s dealing with the idea that she was actually a wanted and loved baby who was ripped away from a life she could’ve had as a Newman. It’s easy to see why Claire’s such a mess since part of her still loves Aunt Jordan despite her manipulation, but she also feels betrayed.
There’s also the matter of Victoria and Cole denying that they’re Claire’s parents at all – at least during all the drama Y&R brought at the lake house.
Claire doesn’t know who she is or what the truth is at this point, so she’s a traumatized young woman who’s going to need some intense therapy.
Since Jordan essentially brainwashed Claire to be a lunatic like her, Claire may need some deprogramming to make sense of things and break free from her past.
Once a DNA test inevitably confirms that Claire is Victoria and Cole’s child, Victoria may take steps to get Claire free and find her a therapist. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is the one most Genoa City residents turn to, Victoria might reach out to her and ask if she’ll help Claire.
Sharon may have some reservations about that since she’s Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) ex and still considers him a close friend.
Nick may stand firmly against Claire and act like Victoria’s inviting more trouble into their lives by supporting the woman who helped torment them. Perhaps Nick will urge Sharon not to treat Claire or offer any kind of guidance that could keep her in town.
Nevertheless, Victoria may beg Sharon to step up and tug at her heartstrings since this situation is similar to what happened with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), who escaped a cult and eventually built a mother-daughter relationship with Sharon.
If Sharon and Mariah can form a strong bond, there’s certainly hope for Victoria and Claire to do the same. It’ll take some work to get there, but Victoria may hope getting Claire some deprogramming and therapy would be a nice start.
